"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand" (Proverbs 19:21). May we always seek God's counsel first from his word, then act upon his truth in obedience.
"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers" (Psalm 1:1). Company matters, and we are encouraged to follow the only true righteous one, Jesus! No one else, but Jesus!
"Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad" (Proverbs 12:35). Here's a good word: "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). No one else, but Jesus!
I think the greatest weakness in the church today is that almost no one believes that God invests his power in the Bible. Everyone is looking for power in a program, in a technique, in anything and everything except where God has placed it: His Word.
